I’m a pretty natural girl, but homeopathy has always intimidated me. And, to be perfectly honest, I’ve been skeptical. But then I met Keri and read the story of how the practice essentially cured her son, and I’m definitely going to give it a try. Family: I’m a single mom to two boys, 7 and 9, and my daughter is 13 (going on 20!).
Work: Homeopathic practitioner, Ajax (serving Durham Region)
How you started your career: When my first son was born, he was healthy thriving baby. At nine weeks, he was hospitalized for RSV, and whopping cough. From that moment on, he lost weight, and had a chronic cough, and wheeze. For the next 10 months, we spent a lot of time at the doctors. He was on two puffers, still had cough, chronic colds etc. At a year old, we were told that he had allergy-induced asthma, and was allergic to cats, dust, milk, trees, grass etc.
The turning point for me was when I asked the doctor how long he had to be on the puffers, and he said, ‘Forever. We will change them as needed as he grows but this is something he’s going to need his whole life.”
I could not accept that.
