-Lucy is going for her first full day at daycare Wednesday, which happens to be the Valentine’s Day party (reason # 678934601 why we love Debbie). She’s supposed to bring something red for Circle Time, and Debbie has all sorts of fun activities planned such as a bean bag toss and cupcake frosting. I picked up some adorable Elmo Valentines for Lucy to hand out to the other kids

-I did ask that Lucy just get a taste of cupcake, as I’d like to save her first sugar high for her birthday party. Debbie agreed, but Eric says she’s probably rolling her eyes at me

-the crusty eyes of late last week should have been a sign: Lucy has another cold. We welcomed the flourescent green boogers on Sunday, but not after Lucy kept us up half the night. It’s always amazing how babies just barrel through sickness, as if nothing is wrong. She may be a little more tired than normal, but otherwise Lucy is her standing/crawling/curious/destructive self. If I had the cold she does (which I’m sure I will, soon enough), I’d be a whining, sluggish mess

-Lucy’s ability to dodge kleenexes is really quite stunning. She dives and flails and snorts. We’ve found singing and giving her her own tissue to tear to shreds is an excellent diversion

-today is our one year well baby check up — stats to follow tomorrow

-the sleep saga seems to have resolved itself with some bumping: Lucy’s naps have moved back an hour (10 am, and 2-ish pm). She goes down with little struggle now. What a relief. She’s also learned to stand up everywhere (walls, chairs, cupboards, exercauser) now — not just her crib — so I think it’s helping get that need out during the day. I still think she’ll drop her morning nap when she’s at Debbie’s full time (sleeping with all those exciting kids? no), but we’ll see what happens

-today could be a big day for Eric and I work wise, so please send us good luck vibes
