YouTube for kids
30th September 2009
Someone on Twitter tweeted about this last night (yes, the lingo makes me roll my eyes, too), and I had to share.
Kideos: The online kids video network. Clips are categorized from ages 0-10, and by genre, including:
- Baby Einstein
- Sesame Street
- Fairies
- Cute animals
- Educational
- Muppets
- Superheroes
- The Wiggles
and more. The site basically filters videos from YouTube: “Each video on Kideos has been screened by our Video Advisory Council before it makes it onto our site. Our goal is to empower parents to feel comfortable allowing their child to spend time on Kideos, while also making sure children have a thoroughly entertaining experience.”
The first video as I type is Cat Flushing a Toilet music video. That alone makes this a guaranteed hit in our house.
Check it out at www.kideos.com.

I guess Daniel’s fascination with the toilet isn’t so weird after all. He’s never figured out how to flush it though/
Too funny Michele. When we lived in the apartment Smokey would flush the toilet all the time and watch the water twirl down the spout. We had to start closing the door she would do it so often. We moved to the house and she would try but thankfully never figured out how to do it. I guess that the toilet handle required more pressure. However, she would stare at the toilet for hours though dipping her paws in. Must be a cat thing!
