Note to self: Don’t ever cut hair again
16th June 2009
We are in the car.
“Mumma, who’s that lady?”
(Pointing to a woman in white shorts walking on the sidewalk.)
“I don’t know, Honey.”
“She looks like a Mommy.”
“She does? Why does she look like a Mommy?”
“She has short hair.”
“Oh. Well, Mumma doesn’t have short hair, and she’s a Mommy. Neither does Julia (our daycare provider).”
Silence from the back seat. I can, however, hear the wheele grinding in Lucy’s head, and I’m grinning, waiting for the toddler punchline.
“Maybe just OLDER Mommys have short hair!”

HA HA HA that’s funny…. When I cut my hair off about a month ago, Mya told me I wasn’t supposed to have short hair, I was supposed to have LONG hair… Then she told me she didn’t like my new haircut….
You must have done that really recently, Sarah! It wasn’t short when I saw you @ Jenni’s…
I actually love short hair, and have had various forms of it for the past five years. But I’m on a growing out streak, and right now it’s the longest it’s been since I got married in 2003. Not sure how much longer I can tolerate it this long (it’s TOUCHING me!), but we’ll see.
Sure makes Eric happy
That’s it. I’m growing my hair.
That is really cute! Carson too makes comments about my hair – he hates it down and always wants me to put it in a ponytail.
Carly that is as short as is, but they cut almost 6 inches off and gave me bangs.. LOL She didn’t want to look at me when I got home…
Cute!
Jaxson always notices if I am wearing a new piece of clothing or if I paint my toenails, he tells me “you pretty Mommy”. Melts my heart!
