FAIL update. With dairy. Moo.

After much hand wringing, some general freaking out and a few tears, we seem to have a solution to the State of the House (post and comments here). Or, at least we think we do.
Anyone who knows my husband will not be surprised at how he took to this dilema: He created a spreadsheet.
(Apparently this is what he gets paid to do all day. Who knew!)
I’ve had to give up the notion of a clean house all at once (as Ang does), and we’re now focusing on a specific few tasks each night. Aside from laundry, each night should only require each of us to spend around 20 minutes cleaning. Of course, this does not include the monumental task each night of cleaning the kitchen up from dinner, but that’s just part of life.
We’re on day two, and I’m loving it so far. I feel like we’re both in this together more, and like that I have a specific thing to do each day. It appeals to the planner/controller in me. But I also told Eric The Schedule and he need to be flexible to accommodate my work, too.
We’ll see how it goes. Maybe something you can try?
In other news, on Sunday night I ate a piece of cheese on my chicken burger. REAL cheese from a cow. And Alice was completely fine.
Perhaps we’re seeing the end of the daily allergy?
At Durham Mom’s Night Out tonight, we’re trying out Mexican Cuban. And I am SO having some more cheese…maybe even *gasp* sour cream.

yes I can understand, cause Jason would do the same thing, actually maybe he should!!! I do like the idea of both of you in it together… I think that is my pet peeve… I just need to wrangle Hubby to help… LOL
I agree I too need hubby to help out…but by the time he gets home he is super tired and it is usually super LATE!!
That is great! There is definately something said about team work when it comes to the crap jobs around the house… makes it feel less daunting or something??? Plus it goes quicker. Glad you are feeling better about it.
So cool that Eric helps so much! And you go out once a week! I am envious as hell and am thinking now of how I can get the same. . . .
Good for you! I snuck some coffee cream the other day, so far so good….
Love the chart! Glad you found something that will (might) work. And Yay Dairy! I don’t know how you’ve done it for so long! I doubt I could go a week without it!
Carly, splitting up the house work is something I’ve had to do too – not because of being busy with kids, since mine is grown now, but because of health issues (growing older is not for sissies). Due to degenerative disc disease, I can’t do all my housework on the same day. It might seem weird that the dusting is done but the vacuuming isn’t, but you learn to live with it.
I had the cheese AND the sour cream. Oh, sweet heavenly processed milk products, how I missed you. So what if you gave me gas last night and are making me feel a little draggy today. YOU TASTED DELICIOUS.
Right, the baby. So far, Alice is fine!
how was the food at the restaurant? I’m looking for a local Mexican place .. there’s that other place close to it that you went to before, is that any good? I’ve seen mixed reviews on it …
I need much tequila …
DoodlesMom, we never ended up going to Los Cabos. My husband, who works near there, said he’s heard it isn’t good. But he recommended the place we went last night. I don’t know about Carly or the other ladies, but I thought it was delicious! I was very pleasantly surprised!
thanks Jen! I’ll have to try it!
