28th October 2008

Baby will not vacate.

Body showing absolutely no signs of labour.

Because of this, induction date now bumped to Monday, November 3.

Seems so close on the calendar, but eons to me. Yesterday was not a good day. I’m struggling: mentally, emotionally, physically.

Apparently over-due pregnant women who have breakdowns in their doctors’ offices are more prone to post-partum depression, too! Nice, huh?

I’m forever grateful to Eric and my Mom and some close friends who are working overtime to keep me rational and sane. Literally.

In other news, it’s almost Halloween, and I have a whole lot of neat links to share. Post comin’ up before I go take up residence on the couch for the day…

Hang in there Carly. Your Grandma is definitely on baby watch. Every single time I spoke with her this weekend she asked if your Mom or Dad had called with news. She was away from the apartment for a little bit each day and was afraid that she had missed the call. She sends her love and we can not wait to meet the new baby.

    Dear Baby #2,

Please join us in this wonderful world. Your Mommy needs to see your gorgeous face. She’s worked hard all these weeks to make a nice home for you in her belly. And now we’d all (especially your Mommy, Daddy, sister Lucy and brother Spencer) like to meet you!

    Love,
    Jodes
PS-Hi Carly! Hang in there! I know it can’t be easy but pop in a Golden Girls tape and look at old pictures of Lucy when she was a newborn. ;) I wish you all the best!

Sending positive vibes your way. Hopefully wee babe decides soon that it’s getting rather boring inside so it’s time to journey into the great outdoors.

I hear ya on being so over due, I was 8 days overdue with Mya, and induced after that… Did you start to measure smaller near the end of your pregancy?? I was measuring about 2 weeks behind at the end… Baby, come out please, your mommy is anxious to meet you!!!

Sorry Carly, but I don’t blame the baby for not wanting to come out … it’s cold out here – at least she’s nice and warm …

She’s acting like a Libra – takes her time, very slow, methodical, maybe because that was supposed to be her birth sign but I’m afraid you’re getting stuck with a Scorpian ..

I was thinking about you and wondering if you were in labour yet. Lots of walks worked for me, though can’t due dates be up to 2 weeks off either way? I hope you don’t have to be induced!

    Best Wishes.

Thanks, everyone. I didn’t know so many of you also delivered late! That certainly makes me feel better.

I am so grateful that baby and I are healthy, so there is always that.

And I have to admit, it’s a little funny now when people ask “When are you due?” and I can say, “LAST Friday.” The look on their faces is priceless…

Sarah: I actually measured 2.5 cm LARGER yesterday, but I’m sure that’s just because of how baby was lying. I’d only gained one pound from last week.

Athena: Nope, this due date was quite spot on because of the four ultrasounds I had.

Jodes, I think tomorrow might be a good day for a Golden Girls marathon! You know me so well, how they are my comfort. Thanks :)

An induction’s not that bad, I had one with Caity – we wanted her early to “control” as much as possible the delivery. Once they put that goop in, a few minutes later labour started – they (the nurses) were surprised how fast it started. Mind you labour still lasted 24 hours, but still ….

Golden Girls and Hot Chocolate on the couch, sounds like heaven to me…!

We’re rooting for you Carly :)

Once that new beautiful wee one shows her pretty face, you won’t even remember these agonizing last few days… right?! lol!
It’ll happen soon! Thinkin’ of ya!
