The hunt

23rd March 2008

basket_peek.jpgWe were going to do Lucy’s Easter egg hunt after her nap this afternoon, but I admit it: I was too excited.

So while she finished her breakfast, I slipped into the dining room and stuffed all the little plastic eggs with Smarties, then hid them all over the main floor alongbunny_book_find.jpg with some books, notepads, Dora socks and other goodies.

It was the best part of the long weekend so far.

She grabbed her basket and padded all over looking for what the Easter Bunny left (with some guidance of course: “Maybe we should look in the office by the filing cabinet!”). Each time she found something, she said, “Oh, wow!” or “Mumma, look!” Each present was strategically hiddenbunny_hop.jpg with a plastic egg, which we had to open and sample one Smartie from.

Good thing she’s only 2 and easily distracted, because when we were searching for the last egg I the Easter Bunny tucked between the paper recycling and book baskets, Eric blurted, “Wow, Mum-Mum did a good job hiding this one!” find_bunny.jpg

It was so. much. fun. This, today, those 15 minutes of wonder and innocence and excitement, encompass everything that is special and magical about having children.

smartie_egg.jpgHappy Easter from Chez McDougall-Foster! Hope the Easter Bunny was good to you and your little ones.
