Survivor: Crib

18th January 2008

Since around a year old, Lucy has slept with a few choice stuffed animals, one of which has always been Boo-Boo the bear.

Lately, however, Boo-Boo is not allowed in Lucy’s crib. Only Doggie is allowed. If Boo-Boo is even looking at the crib, Lucy says: “No, Boo-Boo, Boo-Boo, no.”

He has to sleep as the side of the crib, where Elmo and Dora are. Dora has to wear a nightgown. Yes, has to, or there is crib chaos.

The only thing we can think of is that Lucy wants Boo-Boo to keep Dora and Elmo company at night. Because she always carries Doggie and Boo-Boo to me in the morning and lovingly throws them on my still snoozing head. Then they join us for breakfast. Today they have coloured and danced with us.

The other night, a giant stuffed duck, Guk, and my childhood Bunny, Cassandra, were mysteriously granted entrance into the crib. For one night. The next night, Lucy went into hysterics because Eric dared to leave them in there.

So now we have Dora, Elmo, Boo-Boo, Guk and Cassandra on Exile Island, soon to make up Tribal Council where they conspire to vote Doggie’s hairy ass out of the crib and extinguish his flame forever.

Ummm…a new Survivor. Grandma will be thrilled. I will read this post to her later. I am sure that she will laugh. She sometimes makes exceptions and will speak with me when her Survivor is on but I can tell that she has one ear on the TV set all the time.

    Cassandra?

I don’t remember such Bunny … but it sounds like a name you would have chosen.

How did Lucy end up with such a simple name?

    Hi, there

Sounds like you are having a lot of fun, or should I say challenging bedtimes with our Lucy! It’s her way of checking out the negotiating skills of her loving parents!

    Love to all,

We have similar issues…we leave a baby or two in her bed at nite and come down for a breather and to hang out with boy and we hear BANG! BANG ! depending on how many babies made it in the first place….we figure she just lets them stay for a minute…then tosses them…there is only room for ONE baby in this crib !

    Tooo funny
