Toys, a haircut and weekend plans

29th June 2007

It’s Friday Lucy-Mummy day. My daughter is currently occupied putting objects(plastic forks and spoons, Little People dudes and fence pieces) in and out of a giant cardboard Smarties tube.

Now she’s simultaneously playing plastic rings and a little electronic music piano.

(Live baby blogging. That’s sad, huh?)

Isn’t it neat to see your kids play with toys as they get older? Lucy can pull those rings on and off in seconds now. And she can actually press the buttons on the piano. Earlier she put a Little People on a horse and started to make clip-clop noises.

Also: isn’t it weird when toy brands intermingle? Like Little People with Weebles? Or Leap Pad with Play Skool? We always feel like rebels…

With more than 10 hours stretching ahead of us together, I’ve got lots planned today: a big walk with Spencer, a bike ride (I bought a trailer!) to the park, as much playing and books as we can stand until we get bored, and…Lucy’s first haircut! Can’t wait for the pics of that.

What are you up to this first long weekend of the summer?

Us: purchasing the appliances for our new house, a trek to Ikea, visiting with family and starting to pack. Sunday it will be just one month until we move. Eeeek!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Today we spent the day working in my mother in laws yard. They haven’t been able to do any yard work at all this summer and with the house being on the market…it was desperately needed. So my hubby and I, his two step brothers and their wives and our youngest son spent 9 hours trimming, weeding, mulching, mowing, etc. We’ll be going back tomorrow to finish up. I’ll need a day off Monday to recup!
