The McDougall men at Grandpa Eddie’s (seated) 90th birthday. Geez, can’t tell they’re related, eh? From L-R: Eric, his Uncle Ian, Eric’s dad, Warren, Eric’s brother, Mark.
And four generations of McDougall’s. The older Lucy gets, the more I think she looks just like herself. People say equally that she looks like I or Eric. When she was wee, I could totally see myself in her eyes, especially when she smiled, but even that is diminishing as she grows.
She’s just our Little Lucy. With a stick.

People often tell me that Bean looks “just like” her Dad or “just like” me… I think she looks “just like” herself, and not like either one of us! (although, she does have her Dad’s eyes, and my nose wrinkle when she laughs, but other than… all Bean!)
That said, when I look at Lucy, I see both of you, too! I think it’s different when it’s your own child. Someone who doesn’t know her looks for familiarity in her features, whereas we see the personality BEHIND the features when we look at our own children.
The picture of Lucy looks just like you!!!! A very pretty girl……….
Lucy is just beginning to lose that little baby look…*sniff* She’s growing up…such a cutie pie!
