Life, lately
14th March 2007
-I picked Lucy up from daycare yesterday and she had a dinosaur hat on her head (this month’s theme is dinosaurs, you see). Can you possibly offer me anything cuter than Lucy with a construction paper headband? No
-Eric’s having great fun with the plastic magnets on our fridge. Right now it says “I H8 PREGOS”. Nice, honey. I like my more tasteful creation on our dishwasher:
-while at the parents’ the other day, we unearthed several packing cases full of my treasures from the attic. Most exciting was a box full of Cabbage Patch clothes and my two dolls, Alexabell and Maxwell. Maxwell (NOT Max, thank you) was kinda controversial when I got him, because he’s a black baby and I remember that not sitting well with some members of the family — Carly with the mixed race pair of babies. I aodred both of them, though, and it shows: their arms have track marks from where my best friend Eddie and I would give them needles, and the corners of their mouths are white from brushing their teeth. Look for their debut here soon
-I find it hilarious that there are just as many Cabbage Patch t-shirts for adults as there are for kids online
-Jen moved into her dream home yesterday, and bribed me with pizza to come help. Her beautifully gigantic 4-bedroom,
3-bathroom is stunning and spacious and sorta makes me feel like the old woman in the shoe. But a comfortable, cozy, warm shoe without the whipping, of course
-for the first time since August I went to the library. Armed with three giant books, my life feels complete again
-Eric and I figure we’ll be the most adored people in Lucy’s life for maybe another three years, so when she holds her arms out to us, wraps her little legs around our waists and tucks her head under our chin with an “awwwwww” we close our eyes and wish the world would stand still
-my friend Angie sent out one of those email questionaires — you know: what did you have for breakfast? what colour socks are you wearing? which store would you max your credit card at? — and in response to question 22: person you expect to send it back first, she answered Carly. She’s right, and it’s reason # 45902 why someone needs to put me to work stat
