Happy ho-ho

18th December 2006

Who_are_youWe thought the screams and tears were going to start here, when Lucy was like, "Who the hell are you?"…

Smile_santa…but she was all smiles and claps.

We had breakfast with Santa on the weekend. Lucy refused to eat: she wanted to sit on the stage at Santa’s feet and watch the kids and presents and hear the bells. She gets so excited with other people and kids now, surprising us daily with her energy and stamina.

Lucy_grandma_santa Even my 84-year-old Grandma (my Pa’s mom, and Lucy’s only great-grandmother) got in on the Santa action. No word on what she asked for. Maybe Survivor on DVD? (One time we visited her in the hospital and she kicked us out at 7:55 p.m. because Survivor was coming on at 8. Also she bakes us pounds of goodies at Christmas and individually wraps them in zip-lock bags. Sweetest woman ever.)

With_nanaWith Nana, who took great pleasure in showing her granddaughter off to anyone who’d listen. Lucy only gives kisses to two people in the world: the pretty baby in the mirror (herself) and my mom.

With_daddy The whole family wore red. We were COLOUR COORDINATED. Aren’t you impressed?

Feet(Lucy is impressed. Note she’s wearing her babylegs from Aunt Shannon that have stars on them.)

With_mummy Waiting in line for Santa. I need a hair cut. The end.

Happy holidays!

sure .. this year Lucy will be all smiles and chuckles .. wait until the 1 1/2 year mark when Santa will scare the stuffins outta her. She will probably scream, cry and generally be very afraid of the jolly one – some phase the kids go through. After that, she’ll be back to “Santa!!” like they’re old friends … we couldn’t go near a mall when Lex was a year and a half, just the sight of him scared her .. this year we’re working on the “if you’re not good, I’m calling Santa” and it sort of works. The thought of no presents brings out the best in my little devil .. ahem .. angel …
