Until next year

The cottage was fabulous. Lucy had three 2+ hour naps, slept both nights all the way through, and was overall a doll to be with. I believe she cemented herself more firmly in her cousin and aunt and uncle’s hearts last weekend.
There must be something about the fresh air and sound of the water that strums the senses. You eat more, rest more, laugh more, play more.
It was chilly, especially at night (we had a fire Saturday) but I remembered to pack warmer clothes for Lucy this time. Cousin/Aunt Shannon is bundling her up for a dinner out.
Cousin/Uncle Ted, Gobo and Lucy contemplate Middle East peace, Hurricane Ernesto and puppets.
Uncle Marky off-roading. Lucy was determined to eat the blanket and her sock- and bootie-covered feet, so he had to stop every 20 steps to cover her back up. Obviously she finds this quite hilarious.
Spencer and Gobo stick it to the man.
Lucy works on some green beans.
Everytime I turned around, Lucy was with her Auntie Jenni, playing or reading or walking or feeding. Lucy adores her. Therefore, Project Drop-The-Baby-And-Run will commence shortly.
The cottage, taken from the beach.
I think this is one of the only shots of the four of us. We’re squinty!
On Sunday morning, I stood on the sand looking at the closed blinds, the swept porch, the shining sun and said goodbye for another year. This time next summer, Lucy will be walking and running and into everything, and life at the cottage will
shift for the next generation.
What a special place for this family.
