Life, lately
9th August 2006
We’re taking Lucy out to the ballpark today where she’ll experience many new adventures: first GO Train ride, first visit to Lonestar, first baseball game. We’re hoping to pick her up a Toronto Blue Jays hat so she’ll match her Daddy.
Until tomorrow when we’ll bring you game play-by-plays and highlights, here is Lucy’s world the past few weeks:
Lucy with my beautiful Aunt Judy. During this dinner she and my father were joking about their tumbles as children. Less than 24 hours later Lucy would dive-bomb off the stove

Hi Carly
I’ve been quietly reading your blog since early March.
One thing I found amazing about you was how in the first few weeks since Lucy was born, you found the energy (never mind the time) to share your experience online.
I had a very different birthing experience than you.
It’s taken me up until now to fully appreciate the joy having my daughter adds to my life.
I think and well, I know, I can credit it to mostly you and your blog.
I created a video of the past 16 months of my daughter’s life. I’d like to share that with you.
By the way, when I read your post about how Lucy fell, I really felt for you. Jayde rolled off a chair onto a hardwood floor. I’ll never forget it and how that affected me. I’ve gotten over it but it stays with you. Since then, she’s fallen out of her crib (the mattress hadn’t been lowered yet), rolled down two steps into the foyer and banged her head on the coffee table (twice).
Anyhow, keep it up. You are doing an excellent job sharing your thoughts, feelings and Lucy with the community.

Hi Carly:
Thanks so much for the picture. I love it. I of course immediately printed it off so I would have a copy at my desk.
I have to tell you that sometimes reading the responses to your blog can be heart stopping as well.
To realize that almost everyone is having the same experience as you is well, awesome.
Keep up the blog Carly it is truly wonderful and will be so rewarding for Lucy as she grows up.
Love Aunt Judy
