The sleep fairy cometh
29th March 2006
Stop the pres…um, Internet!
Lucy slept 5 hours in a row last night. Let me repeat: I GOT FIVE HOURS IN A ROW OF SLEEP.
That’s sleeping through the night for a baby. And it was wonderful. I almost didn’t mind getting up at 4:45 am to feed her (that time of day is kinda nice, really, as the sun peeks out and the birds start chirping).
The bags under my eyes are a little less and I actually have a good chunk of energy for something other than taking care of the baby. This is big, people.
Let’s hope we have a pattern here, and can keep it. We’ve been feeding Lucy between 10 and 11 p.m. the past few nights, and she’ll sleep for at least 4 (5!) hours after that. Then feed and go back to sleep when I wake her at 8 a.m. to start the daytime feed schedule of every three hours.
For the past week she’s gone down for a morning nap, too, and one during the afternoon and late evening.
Will this all last? Have I jinxed it all by writing it down?
To be continued…
